The Ecovillage approach to regeneration

Aims and objectives of the module:

  • Introductory session to the Regenerative Education Practitioners training
  • Introducing GEN and the Ecovillage approach to regenerative education
  • Overview of the Twinning Regenerative Educators project resources

This session will introduce the Ecovillage approach to regenerative education. We will explore the Map of Regeneration and will be inspired from regenerative initiatives from around the world. Together, we will reflect on the transition from sustainability to regeneration and the current need for regenerative education. What does regenerative education mean? What practices and resources can support us on this learning journey?

Facilitated by Taisa Mattos, Education & Research Coordinator at the Global Ecovillage Network.

Taisa works as an international trainer and consultant in the fields of sustainability, social innovations and community life. Taisa holds a masters degree in Communities and Social Ecology, and is the author of the book ‘Ecovillages: building a regenerative culture’. She has coordinated and taught Gaia Education and UNESCO certified Ecovillage Design Education Programmes globally since 2009.
