Resilience is the capacity of a system to live and develop with change, uncertainty and disturbance. In a social-ecological system, resilience reflects the capacity to sustain human well-being in the face of change, by buffering shocks, adapting, and when necessary, transforming. In this course, you will actively engage with the complexity around you, enabling you to begin on a more sustainable and just, future pathway, for yourself, family, community or organisation.
What we will cover
We will spend time understanding, engaging with, and mapping personal and interpersonal resilience, and why we are doing this work. There will be space to look at your own context more deeply by doing some practical exercises using the tree model and working with system dynamics. We will honour the land and all those that came before us, our ancestors and elders, by listening and connecting. We will dive into looking at tipping points at a global level and exploring regional and local tipping points. We will then focus on the importance of this work to also envision future scenarios and develop strategic pathways. And finally we will explore resilience attributes and how these can be used to help strengthen resilience over time.

This course is for any one who is interested in deepening their understanding of social-ecological system dynamics of their community or organisation. We also create the space for those who want to understand their own personal and interpersonal resilience and how this interconnects with the wider whole.
