Sarah Queblatin

Trainer for the Ecology Dimension

Sarah is a regenerative design strategist engaging in inclusive landscape leadership. She weaves collective experiences in peace building, cultural heritage conservation, environmental education, and humanitarian assistance for around 15 years. She is passionate about designing solutions for communities affected by disasters, displacement, and unsustainable development. With a trauma informed lens, she designs enabling ecosystems of collaboration through innovation labs and learning journeys to transform the narrative of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) by Designing for Resilience and Regeneration.  

Sarah advocates for the promotion of traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) especially through her work in indigenous communities affected by climate change and weaves this in her practice in permaculture. She studied Advanced Permaculture Design from Aranya Agricultural Alternatives and Guilda Permaculture in India; and Permaculture for Development from the Blue Mountains Permaculture Institute in Australia. She is a member of Re-Alliance and Permaculture for Refugees. She is currently completing her professional certificate in Sustainable and Inclusive Landscapes from Wageningen University and Research. 

Sarah served as the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN)’s UN Working Group and Advocacy Coordinator from 2015-2017 and represented GEN at the 21st to 24th UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP). She currently serves as regional council member for the GEN in Oceania and Asia region and recently co-designed its REGEN NATIONS whole systems learning journey and regenerative design lab. She is also the Executive Director of Green Releaf Initiative, an organization she co-founded in the Philippines. Sarah is also an artist, using culture and creativity for personal and collective transformation.
